The Salern Livestock Protection Days focus on the work of Shepherds with various Livestock. Topics such as professional requirements, animal health and the use of livestock protection measures are covered in detail. A special focus is placed on the rearing and keeping of Livestock guarding dogs and how they work in the field.
The program will be complemented by reports on guided grazing, contract nature conservation and a panel discussion on the future of grazing livestock farming. In addition to presentations, EURAC Research in Bolzano will also be offering information stands and practical demonstrations in the field.
All participants are also cordially invited to attend the opening of the exhibition “Gras und Zähne – al pascolo – may safely graze” LIFEstockProtect on 25.10. at the South Tyrol Museum of Nature. A free shuttle service will take all participants from Salern to Bozen.
