{"id":25053,"date":"2022-09-05T17:25:33","date_gmt":"2022-09-05T15:25:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lifestockprotect.info\/?p=25053"},"modified":"2025-05-12T14:04:51","modified_gmt":"2025-05-12T12:04:51","slug":"practical-day-optimization-of-pasture-fences-for-cattle-using-t-posts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lifestockprotect.info\/en\/practical-day-optimization-of-pasture-fences-for-cattle-using-t-posts\/","title":{"rendered":"Practical day: Optimization of pasture fences for cattle with T-posts"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Immediately after the technical demonstration of the new Patura Tornado Master 5.0 on Thursday, another practical day with fence construction took place on Friday (albeit without the new device, but with a lot of muscle power). 12 participants helped to replace a pasture fence for the farm&#8217;s own Angus cattle at the Herzog organic farm and livestock protection competence center in Austria. With 5 strands and a new height of 1.2 m, the new fence should also hold the large animals securely. It will be laid down over the winter but not dismantled.  <\/p>\n\n<p>Among other things, the participants learned how to measure the optimum distance between T-posts most effectively, even on uneven terrain; how to construct stable corner posts; how to install gates; how to secure a simple stream crossing with chains; and how to install insulators, springs, earthing and electrification.  <br\/>Due to the slope and variable ground, the length of the T-posts had to be adjusted again and again; posts with a total height of 1.2m-2.4m were used to keep the fence as stable as possible.
