Following the specialist booklet on rearing and using livestock guarding dogs, a new booklet has now been published – especially for children and their parents who enjoy hiking or cycling in the mountains.<\/p>\n\n
In Austria – an internationally renowned tourist destination – Livestock guarding dogs are increasingly returning to alpine farming. Their use is also increasing significantly in South Tyrol and Bavaria. More than 40 farms are already actively using this proven protection measure. Almost 30 dogs have now been certified<\/strong> by the Austrian Center Bear, Wolf, Lynx<\/strong> or are about to be certified<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n Livestock guarding dogs are not a fad – they are part of a 2400-year-old tradition that has stood the test of time.
