Nel corso del progetto LIFEstockProtect, verr\u00e0 sviluppato uno schema di valutazione per l&#8217;implementazione di misure di protezione delle mandrie nei pascoli montani dell&#8217;Austria. L&#8217;attenzione \u00e8 rivolta alla protezione di pecore e capre. Tra le misure possibili ci sono la pastorizzazione con recinti notturni, cani da pastore e da guardia del bestiame o recinzioni. In seguito, verranno visitati pi\u00f9 di una dozzina di pascoli di montagna per convalidare i risultati. Per avere un&#8217;idea in anticipo, sono stati visitati quattro allevamenti di pecore negli ultimi due anni del progetto. Non sono state ancora implementate misure di protezione delle mandrie nelle prime due, ma nelle ultime due sono gi\u00e0 stati effettuati interventi di pastorizzazione con recinti notturni o in caso di maltempo, cani da pastore e in alcuni casi anche con cani da guardia del bestiame.<\/p>\n\n<p>I primi due pascoli di montagna erano molto diversi tra loro. Il primo era un piccolo pascolo recintato con circa 30 montoni. La seconda malga era una grande malga con diverse centinaia di pecore.
