Behavior on the pasture

This post is also available in: Deutsch Italiano

Every summer you can meet sheep, suckler cows and their calves, goats, cattle or horses on the pastures, mountain meadows and alpine pastures while hiking or mountain biking. Sometimes shepherds or herdsmen are also present with their herding and livestock protection(service) dogs. There are various herd protection measures – with or without shepherding, electric fencing and/or livestock protection(service) dogs.

So that we can all enjoy the unique nature together, we ask that shepherds and livestock protection(service) dogs respect each other and their herds with appropriate behavior:

  • Keep calm
  • Taking children by the hand
  • Leash dogs
  • Keep your distance from dogs and grazing animals
  • Walk around the herd and stay on the path
  • Push bikes
