Salern Herd Protection Days – Only a few days left until 24.10.!

🎉 We look forward to welcoming all registered participants to the Salern Herd Protection Days! 🎉

The conference is now fully booked and registration is officially closed! We are thrilled that so many of you are joining us to learn more about the world of herders, livestock protection and sustainable grazing practices. 🙌

Over the two days, we will cover exciting topics such as:

  • The crucial role of Livestock guarding dogs, their training and how they protect the herds in different landscapes 🐕
  • Animal health on alpine pastures and innovative solutions for sustainable pasture management 🌱
  • Guided grazing, biodiversity and the future of contractual nature conservation 🌍
  • Nature conservation through professional grazing, a key strategy for preserving natural habitats and promoting biodiversity through the use of grazing animals 🐑🌿

  • Take part in the opening of the exhibition “Gras und Zähne – al pascolo – may safely graze” on October 25 at the South Tyrol Museum of Nature in Bolzano! A free shuttle service will take all participants from Salern to Bozen.
  • Take part in the UniBZ “Feral Wool” workshop and discover innovative approaches to wool management as well as practical demonstrations on livestock guarding dogs, herding dogs and fence building techniques!
