Scenes of the peaceful existence of Shepherds and grazing animals – hard work in adverse weather in mostly uncomfortable landscapes: The cultural history of pasture moves between these poles. When people began to colonize the Alps with their domestic animals, the post-glacial landscape also began to change. The exhibition shows stages of this development up to today’s debate about grazing animals and wolves.
Sculptures, models and games, interviews and films provide insights into the cultural practice of the Hut, the pasture management among Shepherds, which not only serves to protect against wolves: grazing animals and Shepherds have the potential to have a positive effect within the crisis issues of climate, species protection and the environment, nutrition, animal husbandry and self-determined work.
