The 1st Echemer LIVEstock Protection Day took place on 07.06.2024. This was organized by Livestock protection consultants from the Lower Saxony Chamber of Agriculture (LWK) and the state of Schleswig-Holstein. The aim was to present all areas of wolf-repellent livestock protection, from technology to Livestock guarding dogs, from different perspectives.
There were three areas: Lecture, exhibition and practical demonstrations on fence construction and maintenance. All-day presentations were given on experiences with wolf-repellent fences for cattle, livestock and horses. Background presentations on crack assessment, DNA analysis for the investigation of livestock kills, insurance and liability in livestock protection and studies on the behavior of wolves on livestock protection fences from Switzerland deepened the knowledge presented. LIFEstockProtect was on site and gathered information from the many presentations that we are now sharing with you here.
