The first Competence Centre in South Tyrol

We have great news! The LIFEstockProtect team can announce that the first competence center in South Tyrol has been found. This is the Fachschule für Land- und Hauswirtschaft Salern, which has specialized in the training and education of farmers in South Tyrol and consults alpine farmers since 1987.

There has been an exchange with the school since the beginning of the LIFE project and the competent and motivated way of working of the specialist staff quickly became apparent. In the future, training courses on livestock protection will take place there, with LIFEstockProtect taking over the organization and registration. The courses are held by experts and, in addition to a theoretical introduction, focus especially on practical implementation in the field.

The school is also involved in the field of shepherd training. Thy are currently working on the course content and is in an exchange with LIFEstockProtect in order to discuss and coordinate overlapping content between the training for shepherds and farmers. The first courses should, if possible, be offered this year. As soon as we know more, we will of course write about it.
